Join us to see first-hand the Glenelg to Kingston Park sand recycling pipeline in action

A tour to learn more about how Adelaide's metropolitan beaches are managed and the operations of a sand recycling pipeline. Experts will be on hand to explain how the pipeline works and answer your questions. Participants will be required to make their own way to the event, and then drive a short distance between the first and second location point. EVENT LOGISTICSLocation 1 - Somerton Park (10.00 am to 10.45am)<ul><li>Meet at Somerton Park - Esplanade, Corner Rossall Road, Somerton Park at 10:00am (please note this location has been updated and is no longer Whyte St, opposite John Miller Reserve)</li></ul>Location 2 - Glenelg jetty (11.15am to 12.00pm)<ul><li>Meet at the Southern side of Glenelg Jetty at 11.15am</li></ul>Note: You will be asked to drive your own vehicle between Location 1 and Location 2 . 30 minutes has been allowed for this. PARKING AND TRANSPORT We encourage car pooling. <aside>During the 1980s and 90s the Seacliff and Brighton coast was severely eroded.</aside><aside>More than 1 million cubic metres of sand was imported in the late 90s to create dunes, and now with the help of the sand recycling pipeline and dedicated dune care volunteers, these beaches are maintained and looking beautiful year round.</aside>
