Engaging with Disability workshop
Think differently about disability! Hear real stories, challenge assumptions and learn practical ways to make a difference.
Hosted by the City of Mandurah, join the Youth Disability Advocacy Network (YDAN) for a free interactive workshop led by young people with disability.
Through personal stories, group discussions and activities, learn about disability, the barriers people face and practical ways to make our community more inclusive.
What will the workshop cover?
- Understanding disability and how people experience it differently.
- Recognising how attitudes, assumptions and everyday environments can create barriers.
- Using inclusive language and communicating respectfully.
- Practical ways to make activities, services and community spaces more accessible and inclusive.
Who is it for?
Anyone interested in learning more about disability and inclusion, including people working, volunteering and studying in disability, community and education services and the wider community.
Accessibility
The venue has ACROD parking bays, free general parking, Universal Access Toilets and general toilets. Quiet spaces and sensory resources are also available.
A craft station will be available for people who prefer to keep their hands busy while learning, or for anyone accompanying someone to the workshop who would enjoy crafting.
