Overview

EndNote X8 is a powerful and comprehensive research management tool, designed to give your research and writing process the leading edge. This workshop will provide you with the skills to:

  • Create and populate your EndNote library with citations, sourced both manually and from a range of online bibliographic resources.
  • Arrange and manage your citations to create a working library of sources, using a variety of different methods.
  • Find, attach, and annotate source materials, such as Word documents and full-text PDFs.
  • Produce fully automated citations, using your EndNote library of source materials.
  • Create bibliographies and format papers, using a wide range of popular academic writing styles.
  • Access cloud-based synchronisation options, as well as collaboration and library sharing features.

The workshop is conducted using Windows PCs, though certain aspects specific to Mac computers may be demonstrated. Participants are also welcome to bring laptops to the workshop, if they wish, ensuring the pre-installation of EndNote for Mac or Windows beforehand.

Supporting material:

EndNote X8 for Windows User Manual

EndNote X7 and EndNote X8 by Clarivate Analytics

For further support regarding EndNote, including how to download the software, please visit the  EndNote Support Site in Wattle. (ANU ID and ISIS/HORUS password). This EndNote Support Site is also designed to help you with EndNote related issues and problems. It is, however, recommended that you attend one of the workshops before using EndNote, in order to ensure you are familiar with the basic functions of the program.

This workshop is open to current ANU students and academic staff ONLY.
