Join us for a Grass Roots Rugby Gala Dinner!

About this Event

Come and celebrate the year that's been and help these young players get to the other side of the world, connect with new cultures through sport and broaden their minds through extraordinary experiences.

100% of the profits from this event will go towards supporting junior rugby players from Auckland University RFC and Papatoetoe Rugby Club live their dreams and playing rugby while touring France.

Keynote Speaker 1: Sir Graham Henry (KNZM)

Graham finished his All Blacks career as one of the most successful rugby coaches of all time: he coached the All Blacks to 88 wins in 103 Tests for a winning percentage of 85.4 percent. As well as winning the Rugby World Cup 2011, the All Blacks have held the Bledisloe Cup every year since 2003, won the Investec Tri Nations five times and achieved three Grand Slams against the Northern Hemisphere Home Unions.

Keynote Speaker 2: Fiao'o Fa'amausili (ONZM)

Fiao'o Fa'amausili (ONZM) is a New Zealand female rugby union player. She plays for New Zealand and Auckland. She was a member of the winning Black Ferns squad for the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup. She is a police officer in Auckland.

Keynote Speaker 3: DJ Forbes

Derek Jamie "DJ" Forbes is a New Zealand former rugby union player and captain of the All Blacks Sevens team. Since receiving the captaincy role in 2006, he has played in over 80 tournaments, won six Sevens Series titles and has one Gold and one Silver Commonwealth Games medal. Forbes stepped down as captain for the All Blacks Sevens to concentrate on earning a spot in the team for the 2016 Olympics. Forbes was awarded the 2008 New Zealand Samoan Sportsperson of the year. He announced his retirement from Rugby sevens in 2017. Across is rugby career, he appeared in 512 games in 89 tournaments and won 6 World Series.
