Join us for our next Knowledge Talks series with Emilio Lopez Diaz, owner of Topeca Coffee Roasters.

Emilio will be presenting on the ‘Current and future challenges of the coffee supply chain - from farming, milling and exporting to the roaster and retailer.’

Emilio began his coffee career back in 2001 when he founded Topeca Coffee Roasters while still studying at the University of Portland, Oregon. He became a member of the Roasters Guild in 2002 and served as the chair person from 2017-2019. Based out of El Salvador, Emilio owns a vertically integrated business from seed to cup, with farming, roasting, exporting, and importing operations out of Brazil, USA and El Salvador. With coffee running through his veins he is a sixth generation producer dedicated to the coffee industry and coffee community.

All proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to the Las Nubes Daycare and Afterschool-Learning Centre. The centre supports the education of over 40 children aged between 3 and 12 in the coffee community of Acatenango, Guatemala. On a daily basis the centre provides much needed education, nutritional meals and a safe and nurturing environment while allowing the parents to continue working or to complete their education.
