What is this seminar about?

From 1 January 2017, sheep and goats born in Victoria will need to have an electronic NLIS tag before being dispatched from a farm.

This seminar will provide Victorian producers with an overview of the standards and support available to help transition to the mandatory use of electronic ear tags.

Topics of the seminar include:

• Timelines for the implementation of electronic identification (EID)
• What producers will need to do to meet the requirements
• Transition Package – details of the $17.06 million package to support industry, including:
- cost-neutral tags for producers
- grants for the purchase of optional infrastructure (including hardware and software)
- question and answer session

Presenters:

Garry Armstrong, Senior Sheep Specialist with Agriculture Victoria
