Presented by NeuroTek
Join NeuroTek for a practical, hands-on workshop designed to equip occupational therapists and physiotherapists with the knowledge and skills to confidently use Electrical Stimulation (ES) in the treatment of upper limb impairment following neurological events.
Facilitated by Bev Quee, Occupational Therapist and founder of NeuroTek, this workshop draws on extensive clinical experience in neurological rehabilitation and focuses on evidence-based, functional application of ES in practice.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will:
- Develop an understanding of the evidence base, risks, contraindications and key parameters associated with Electrical Stimulation (ES).
- Apply clinical reasoning to determine when and why ES is appropriate for different patient presentations.
- Build competence using ES for patients at risk of shoulder subluxation and for upper limb muscle activation during functional, task-specific training.
- Explore how to incorporate functional ES programs alongside other therapy interventions to support upper limb rehabilitation following neurological impairment.
