Are you deep in election campaign mode? Looking for the light at the end of the tunnel? Thinking about what you’ll do when it’s all over and you get some time back?
Why not treat yourself to some rest and rejuvenation after all of the hard work….
Commonground is pleased to be hosting an ‘Election Recovery Gathering’ to help you relax, unwind, re-ground and reconnect.

You are invited to arrive anytime from 3pm on Thursday 30th May to settle in and have dinner on Thursday night, we will finish the by 12pm on Saturday 1st June.
The program will include plenty of chill time, bushwalks on our 90 acre regenerated bushland property, fireside chats, craft and creative activities, yoga + meditation, games, time in the garden, self-reflection and facilitated group discussion. There will be a focus on eating healthy and nutritious food, looking after yourself and doing just what you feel your body, mind and heart needs.
Commonground is a not-for-profit social enterprise that has been supporting social justice, environmental, disadvantaged and community groups since 1984. Our vision is for a just, nonviolent and sustainable world. We have a long history of supporting the social change movement and we feel called at this time to offer this unique opportunity to campaigners, activists, community members and everyone involved in progressive social change within Australia.
Fees are on a sliding scale of $150-$350 per person for the full Gathering - below is an outline of each category, please self-assess where you fit on this scale, considering your means, privilege and dependents, employment conditions, and factoring in what you would normally expect to pay for this type of training/gathering/retreat accommodation. If money is a barrier to you participating or you feel there is a different amount/exchange you would like to offer please be in contact so we can discuss further. Breakfasts and dinners are included in the cost of the Gathering and we ask that everyone brings along some food as a contribution for lunch and some snacks to share.
$150 - Unwaged, Concession, Student - for low income individuals, volunteers from unfunded organisations.
$250 - Waged, Individual - for average waged individuals paying to attend themselves.
$350 - Supporter, Organisation - for higher waged individuals and participants where your organisation with a larger budget is paying and for those with the means to help support others to attend.
The Gathering will be hosted by Alicia Crawford Bell.
Alicia is an activist, social change maker, yoga teacher and mother who is passionate about working towards social, economic and environmental justice. She is the founder of Liminal Life – a for purpose business committed to supporting personal and collective growth and transformation. As an advocate and practitioner, Alicia is committed to helping those working within the social change and community sectors to be their best selves and do their best work in a healthy, balanced and meaningful way. She currently lives at Commonground in a Tiny House with her family.
