Ecology in Urban Streetscapes is an exploration of how ecology, greening and water are considered in the design of streetscapes for a growing population. You will hear from experts on the importance of biodiversity in city scapes, and workshop how ecology and biodiversity can be fore fronted in street renewal projects.

Speakers include:

  • Jocelyn Chiew - Director City Design, City of Melbourne
  • Danielle Jewson – Design Manager and Principal Strategic Designer, City of Melbourne
  • Lee Harrison – Senior Ecologist, City of Melbourne
  • Freya Thomas - Senior Urban Forester, City of Melbourne
  • Elise Wood - Manager Climate Adapted and Water Sensitive City, City of Melbourne

The Excellent City Series was launched in 2021, by the City of Melbourne's City Design studio, to promote public awareness and debate on what constitutes design excellence for Melbourne. Ecology in Urban Streetscapes is the 15th event in the series.
