Point Leo - 'Let's Go Surfing' event on Saturday March 14, 2026

Come along to Point Leo for a great day with the Disabled Surfers Association Mornington Peninsula (DSAMP) crew. We aim to "put smiles on dials" - to provide a safe & enjoyable surfing experience for people with any disability.
First surfers/participants hit the water 11a.m. start
(Vols rego opens 9 a.m. and Surfer/Carer rego opens 10 a.m.)
SURFERS/PARTICIPANTS INFO:
- No experience necessary
- Registration opens from 10:00 a.m. (pre-register before arrival please!)
- First surfer session in the water 11 a.m. Surfing sessions close 3 p.m.
- Wetsuits available (limited sizes) if you don't have your own
- Change area and disabled toilet facilities available
- Beach access via the boardwalk ramp
- Bring your carer please
CARERS INFO:
- At least one carer is required per surfer (100% responsible for their surfer outside of their surf time)
- Pre-registration required
VOLUNTEERS INFO:
- No experience necessary
- Check-in and registration opens at 9:00 a.m. (pre-register before arrival please)
- Water & land based roles available (you don't have to be a surfer to get involved)
- Role briefings and instructions will be provided. Role briefings starting from 10 a.m. (RED shirt vols- 10 a.m., BLUE shirt water vols 10:40 a.m., PHOTOGRAPHER briefing at 9:45 a.m. All other roles TBA at check-in).
- Bring your WWCC card to rego if you have one. It's OK if you don't have one if you're an infrequent event volunteer, so please still come along.
- Surfing starts at 11 a.m.
OTHER NOTES/INFO:
- Bring your own sunscreen, towel, water bottle, hat and wetsuit (we have wetsuits available for surfers/participants. Volunteers their may be a limited supply so please bring your own)
- Beach wheelchair available
- Sausage sizzle and vegetable burgers provided
- Water available for refills
- Beach access via the boardwalk ramp
- Live music
If you are unwell please stay home for the safety of all attending this event.
