About this event

Face the ugly. Find the beautiful.

When we began, we were water. We flowed with the world we lived in. There was balance. There was symbiosis. That was then, we don’t want to go back, we can’t go back, so how do we go forward?

In a world looking for meaning, a group of seven lay bare the consequences of their actions. They work to stir up and unearth the depth and complexity of every living thing; to expose the ugly and toxic ingrained in the foundations of human-made systems; and begin to ask, ‘how did we get here? What are we all running towards, and why?’ Delving through human-made systems; they uncover the torment of reaching for community through isolation, and ask can we rebuild what we destroyed, together?

DREDGE is a raw and visceral physical theatre meditation on where our world is now, and what we could create from the remnants.

Developed in collaboration with The Anchor Theatre Company and Femmural DREDGE sets to redefine the relationship between the natural environment and our human-made world. Is it possible that they are more connected than we think? Can we learn from our biological systems and change our human-made ones?
