Drawing on Solar Plate & Viscosity Printing with Seraphina Martin
2 days to work with various techniques on solar plates ( 2 x A5) and learn the technique of viscosity printing to use multi colours
This two day workshop will give you an opportunity to work with solar plates . You will be given 2 x A5 . This enables you to make a couple of different plates and learn different techniques as well as the technique of colour roll viscosity printing. ( if you prefer a larger plate you can have 1 x A4 plate instead of the 2 x A5 plates).
The workshop will focus on drawing as well as other techniques to use on your solar plates. You will then explore various inking and printing techniques including viscosity colour rolls to produce some wonderful prints.
You will need to do some preparation prior to the workshop so as to maximise the time you have applying the inking process.
- To prepare you need to consider/bring:
• Pulling together a number of photographs, drawings, collage or mixed media images that you might like to use for the workshop. These will be used as inspiration to develop ideas - not as a final product as experimentation is encouraged and explored. - you will be able to use drawing film to create some images using pencils, gouache paint and pens. You could also have fun using natural organic materials such as leaves, lace and feathers to create your own compositions (available from the facilitator);
- Please bring along your creative ideas.
