Drawing fundamentals workshops with David Payne

We are back for a 2nd series of the overwhelmingly popular and successful Fundamental Drawing Workshops!!

Join artist David Payne as he teaches foundational drawing skills in this workshop series presented by Hobsons Bay Arts Society.

Hobsons Bay Arts Society Foundation Drawing Classes are designed for people ages 18+ wanting to learn the basic foundational skills in drawing, building confidence in their art practice, meeting new friends and having fun.

Whether you're a beginner, intermediate or more experienced, everyone is welcome to come along.

All drawing materials will be supplied, including charcoal, paper, erasers, easels and more.

Key elements will be covered, including basic shapes and fundamental form, tonal values, edges, shading, texture, composition and perspective. Genres may include still life, landscapes, figures, portraits, flowers, birds.

The key objective of the course is to build your confidence in sketching, drawing and learning to see angles, shapes, proportion, overlapping lines, edges and more.

Registrations for these workshops are $5 and include a hot drink and a biscuit.
