Inspired by the work of local illustrator Jaelyn Biumaiwai from Jae's Illustrations, this workshop celebrates identity, culture and the stories that make each of us unique. Your drawing will be transformed into a digital illustration by Jae and become part of a Big Community Portrait Project at Helensvale Library across July and August. Join us in celebrating the many stories and identities that make up our community.Recommended for ages 8 and over.
About the Artist
Jaelyn Biumaiwai is a proud Mununjali and iTaukei Fijian woman, born and raised on Kombumerri country, Gold Coast, which forms part of the wider Yugambeh Language Region.Jaelyn is a multifaceted artist but is mostly known for her illustrations and creative business ‘Jae’s Illustrations’.
