A fun, engaging workshop for 8-12 yr olds to try basic animation techniques with artist Ben Toupein. You will make your drawings move!

This hands-on animation workshop for 8-12 year olds is an introduction to the basic principles of animation through drawing, sequencing, and visual storytelling. You will experiment with methods such as transparent slides, layered hand-drawn artwork, stop-motion animation, and drawings to create short frame-by-frame animated sequences. In this fun and practical workshop, you will create, observe, collaborate and problem-solve while trying out a range of traditional animation techniques. Develop your own characters, scenes and short animations, and discover how individual images can be combined to create movement and tell a story.
