Event description

“Do people who complain about the performative nature of social media not realise how performative reality is?”

Monash Uni Student Theatre presents a bold new work by Christopher Bryant probing the role of social media, influencers, and artificial intelligence in the chaos of the Internet-age.

What happens when you accrue a following of 50,000 fans before you’ve even finished high school?

Moreover, how far would you go to make them leave you alone?

Flick is Insta-famous for her FODMAP-friendly cooking, George has fans watching his every move, and Tay is a dynamic program created by Microsoft, who learns what it means to be human from strangers online. But what happens when she learns about love, humour... and racism?
