Discover Sydney... The Spit to Manly Walk

Join your peers for a FREE walking tour of one of Sydney's most spectacular coastal walks. Meet us outside the Wentworth Building on campus and travel together by coach to "The Spit" in Mosman, where we will start the famous Spit to Manly Costal Walk. The 10km walk along the coastline offers spectacular harbour views, opportunities to see ancient Aboriginal rock engravings and finishes at one of Sydney's favourite beaches.

During the walk you will have the chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery, fresh air, sunshine and to connect with other international students. Once we finish the walk in Manly, return home on one of the iconic Manly ferries to finish off the day, and make your own way home from there.

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED

• Return public transport costs from Manly
• Water/drinks

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR

• wear comfortable shoes
• wear a hat, sunglasses and whatever you need to cover up and avoid sunburn/sunstroke
• sunscreen
• water bottle/snacks
• umbrella/raincoat in case of poor weather

*Please note, this day trip will involve a 10km walk. The track is suitable for most ages and fitness levels. There are several steep sections of stairs. The track is a mix of paved walkway, boardwalk and maintained bush track.

Please note, this course is exclusively for current international students from the University of Sydney and sponsored by Allianz Care (OHSC). You will be required to provide your SID and University email address at registration, and show your student card on the day.

As numbers are limited due to COVID-19 public health restrictions, we ask that you register for a maximum of 1 Discover Sydney activity during semester 1 2021, to allow other students opportunities to participate.

Conditions of entry:

• If you are feeling unwell or experiencing flu like symptoms, please stay home.
• Practice social distancing at all times: keep a distance of 1.5 metres between you and other people wherever possible; and avoid shaking hands or any other physical contact.
• Wash your hands with soap and water (or use hand sanitiser) frequently
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing and sneezing or use your elbow, not your hands.
• Wear a mask, particularly on public transport or in other situations where physical distancing is not possible.
• Check the NSW Public Health website for the current public health advice in relation to locations where people who visited are required to self-isolate.
