About this event

Join your peers for a FREE day trip to the spectacular Ku-ring- gai Chase National Park and immerse yourself in Aboriginal Cultural heritage.

This exclusive day trip will take you by air-conditioned coach from The University of Sydney Campus to Guringai country. You'll be taken on a cultural journey with Guringai Aboriginal Tours, where you will learn about how the traditional custodians cared for the land. You'll visit sites with rock art and engravings from thousands of years ago all within the beautiful surroundings of one of Sydney's most beautiful national parks.

You will have the chance to meet some other international students, enjoy a picnic lunch among the gumtrees and you may even have the chance to spot some Australian wildlife.

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR

  • wear comfortable shoes
  • wear a hat, sunglasses and whatever you need to cover up and avoid sunburn/sunstroke
  • sunscreen
  • water bottle/snacks
  • umbrella/raincoat in case of poor weather

*Please note, this day trip will involve several easy-medium grade walks on uneven terrain.

Please note, this course is exclusively for current international students from the University of Sydney and sponsored by Allianz Care (OHSC). You will be required to provide your SID and University email address at registration, and show your student card on the day.

Conditions of entry:

  • If you are feeling unwell or experiencing flu like symptoms, please stay home.
  • Practice social distancing at all times: keep a distance of 1.5 metres between you and other people wherever possible; and avoid shaking hands or any other physical contact.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water (or use hand sanitiser) frequently
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing and sneezing or use your elbow, not your hands.
  • Wear a mask, particularly on public transport or in other situations where physical distancing is not possible.
  • Check the NSW Public Health website for the current public health advice in relation to locations where people who visited are required to self-isolate.
