About this event

This 2 hour workshop designed by JobAccess (Australian Government program ) is intended to improve employment opportunities for people with disability.

It’s likely that many of us know someone who lives with disability, or that we personally live with disability. Disability is part of human diversity, and effects individuals differently. Disability can be visible or hidden, permanent or temporary and may have a minimal or substantial impact on a person’s abilities.

Creating an inclusive and disability confident workplace can improve employment opportunities for people with disability. In many cases, small adjustments can make all the difference to ensuring a person with disability can be supported and productive.

The workshop will cover:

  • Disability and inclusion in the workplace
  • Barriers and stereotypes
  • What does the law say?
  • Mentally healthy workplaces
  • Attraction and retention
  • Inclusive language

Venue: Margaret Fairweather Educational Space (behind Hackett Hall Cafe)

Please note: COVID-19 safe protocols will be followed as per the health and safety advice.
