We will be selling her new book, as well as a selection of previous titles, on the evening. Book signing will be available after the formal part of the evening is finished, there may be a limit to the number of books (per person) she's able to autograph. We will confirm these details closer to the event.

Lynda La Plante was born in Liverpool. She trained for the stage at RADA and worked with the National Theatre and RDC before becoming a television actress. She then turned to writing - and made her breakthrough with the phenomenally successful TV series Widows. Her novels have all been international bestsellers. Her original script for the much-acclaimed Prime Suspect won awards from BAFTA, Emmy, British Broadcasting and Royal Television Society as well as the 1993 Edgar Allan Poe Award.

Lynda has written and produced over 170 hours of international television. She is one of only three screenwriters to have been made an honorary fellow of the British Film Institute and was awarded the BAFTA Dennis Potter Best Writer Award in 2000. In 2008, she was awarded a CBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for services to Literature, Drama and Charity.

Lynda will be interviewed by our own local crime author, Sarah Bailey!

Sarah Bailey is a Melbourne-based writer with a background in advertising and communications.

The Dark Lake was her first novel and was a best seller in Australia, the US and the UK. It won the 2018 Ned Kelly Award for Best Crime Fiction Debut as well as the 2018 Sisters in Crime Award for Best Debut. It was also shortlisted for General Fiction Book of the Year.

Its sequel, Into The Night was released in 2018 and the third book in the Detective Gemma Woodstock series will be published in 2019.

N.B. If you (or someone you are booking for) has any special food requests/allergies, you will be asked to provide details during the booking.
