Morning session : 9:30 to 12:30

Digital Technologies in Literacy and Mathematics - how to integrate DT and computational thinking into Literacy and Maths.

Many teachers are feeling pressure to fit the new DigiTech curriculum into their busy days. This session will help you see logical links where Digitech concepts and skills can enhance other subject areas and vice versa.

Suitable for teachers from year F-8

Based on the CSER F-6 Extended course, we introduce programming concepts and present ideas and resources (with and without technology) for how algorithmic thinking and programming can be integrated across the curriculum, using English and Mathematics as two example learning areas.

Afternoon session : 1:30 to 4:00

This session will cover computational thinking specifically addressing the content descriptors of the Victorian Curriculum: Digital Technologies for Teachers of Years 7&8. These are also relevant for upper primary.

We will explore the design thinking process to plan a classroom project, covering a range of Digital Technologies related skills.

Suitable for teachers from year 5-8
