Business Tasmania in partnership with City of Hobart and Digital Solutions invite you to the Digital strategy essentials: finding new customers online workshop, the second event in Business Tasmania’s digital support program being delivered in 2026.
In this year’s program some of the things you will have the opportunity to learn include how to develop a digital strategy to reach more customers online, getting started with AI and how it can be used to assist your business to grow, online tools to save you time with every day tasks in your business and cyber security to protect your business. As events for the 2026 series become available, they will be promoted through Business Tasmania’s newsletter and Facebook page.
As part of the digital support program, Business Tasmania’s website has been updated with new tools and information, a refreshed appearance and better functionality, you will hear more about this at the workshop as well as the range of support you can access from Business Tasmania.
About the workshop:
If you’ve ever felt like you should be doing more online, but aren’t sure where to focus your energy, this workshop is for you.
Websites, social media, SEO, Google reviews, paid ads, and new platforms popping up constantly can make digital marketing feel overwhelming, especially if you’re early in your business journey or don’t have strong digital skills yet.
This session is designed to give you clarity and confidence by helping you understand how digital strategy actually works, before asking you to apply it to your own business.
Presented by Adam Mostogl, Digital Solutions mentor and CEO & Chief Entrepreneur, The van Diemen Project, this session focuses on helping business owners move away from guesswork and towards intentional, strategic digital decisions.
The session will cover:
- how to clarify your business goals and what you actually want digital marketing to achieve
- how to understand and prioritise your target market
- the role of brand voice and brand narrative in shaping your online presence
- an overview of key digital channels and how they support different objectives.
This includes a high level look at:
- why every business needs a website and how SEO works in simple terms
- Google Business Profiles and reviews as trust and visibility drivers
- social media platforms, including organic versus paid approaches and when each is appropriate
- less obvious channels, such as Reddit, and when they may be suitable.
Once these elements have been covered, you’ll be guided through a practical exercise to apply the content directly to your own business.
You’ll walk away with:
- A clear understanding of the one digital platform you should be focusing your energy on right now, based on your target market and goals
- Three specific improvements you can make to your website immediately to better support visibility, trust, and conversions
This session is ideal for early stage businesses, sole traders, creatives, and small business owners who want practical, no fluff guidance on where to focus their digital efforts.
An optional 15 minute Q&A will follow the presentation, allowing you to ask questions specific to your business or industry.
Everyone is welcome to attend this free event, whether you’re a business owner, operator or dreaming of getting started.
Light refreshments will be served and paid parking is available nearby at both Dunn Place Car Park and Market Place Car Park.
Doors Open at 5:45 for a 6:00pm start.
