'DIG FOR THE DIGGERS'
2016 sees the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Fromelles, a Battle that took place in France on 19 & 20 July 1916. At the time nobody had any idea that the 24 hour period would become the worst 24 hours in Australia's entire history.
Over 5,500 Australians were killed, wounded or taken prisoner. Those who were killed were buried in mass graves behind enemy lines.
Travelling to 8 locations around Tasmania, Dig for the Diggers tells the story of the DNA identification of Australian soldiers buried in those mass graves in Fromelles.
