Children’s Session
“Art making and connecting with others is the window to understanding”
Join us for a creative art session for children and teens that aims to teach important psychological skills. These sessions are focused on using art therapy to help children and teens with type 1 diabetes connect, play and create meaning out of difficult feelings with diabetes. Psychological skills that will be covered are: identity and diabetes, anxiety management, and how to find joy and hope.
This 60-minute session will be facilitated by Angie Manzke, director of Reflective Haven, a specialised type 1 diabetes counselling practice. Angie is a social worker and psychotherapist with over 15 years’ experience working with type 1 families and runs regular art therapy classes.
Can't make it to the live online session? Don't worry, your free registration includes 7 days of on-demand access to the event recording, so you don’t miss out!
This DiaBuddies Online event has been made possible through the generous support of Future Generations Australia.
