DiaBuddies Family Picnic – Kotara Join us for our DiaBuddies Family Picnic in Kotara this October! Diabetes Australia invites you to join us for our upcoming DiaBuddies Family Picnic at Blackbutt Carnley Reserve. We understand the unique challenges and experiences that come with managing type 1 diabetes. Our special family picnic is aimed at creating a supportive and inclusive environment where families can come together, share stories, and make new connections. The DiaBuddies team will have a designated area at Carnley Reserve near the main carpark and families are invited to bring their own picnic lunch and enjoy the surrounding splaygrounds, suitable for younger and older children. We’ll also have an exciting wildlife encounter led by a professional handler, giving children will have the chance to get up close with a variety of reptiles and other animals in a hands-on touch-and-feel session. Plus, a talented face painter will also be on-site to add to the fun! Please note the park will be shared with the general public throughout the day. During the morning we will host a range of small activities providing opportunities for children living with type 1 diabetes and their siblings to meet other children their age. A small shelter will also be set up where parents/carers can speak with our credentialled diabetes educators and children living with type 1 diabetes can enter into our carb counting competition. Families are encouraged to check-in on arrival with the DiaBuddies team to receive a small goodie bag. We look forward to spending this fun-filled morning with you!
