This workshop aims to equip teaching staff with an understanding of Padlet to enhance their collaborative learning practices.

Details

Padlet is a web-based whiteboard tool that is useful for promoting student-centred and active learning. It supports virtual brainstorming, collation and collaboration activities. It is useful for encouraging collaboration with both synchronous and asynchronous learning activities. This workshop covers practical strategies for using the tool to assist with directing discussion, reflection, brainstorming, content curation and a range of collaborative learning contexts.


This workshop is for

  • Teachers (lecturers, tutors, facilitators) who want to incorporate collaborative learning approaches and activities in their subjects
  • Teachers who want to enhance their current collaborative learning practices
  • Teachers who want to improve their facilitation of active learning in tutorials/workshops


Intended Learning Outcomes

  • Identify the key features and how to use Padlet for collaborative learning
  • Consider how to incorporate Padlet into a particular teaching context (synchronous or asynchronous)
  • Design a teaching and learning activity to incorporate Padlet in your teaching
