About this event

Discover how you can craft and deliver high-quality formative and graded quiz questions as a part of your assessment strategy. (Please note: If you would like to learn about LMS quizzes and how to build quiz questions in the LMS please register for the LMS: Quizzes workshop)

In this interactive workshop, we will unravel the key strategies for designing and delivering high-quality quiz questions. We’ll start by looking at where quizzes may fit within a given curriculum and their place with an overarching assessment strategy. You’ll see some examples of well-designed quiz questions, as we break down the components of a good question, and offer best-practice advice to ensure effective outcomes are reached. Lastly, you’ll see how you can use some of the tools available in the LMS to support with the design and delivery of quizzes.

This workshop/session will be particularly relevant to staff implementing online quizzes (or as part of the Improving Online Quality LTI grants) but will appeal to anyone considering or already using quizzes for formative or summative assessment.

The intended learning outcomes are:

  • Identify where quizzes are most suitably used as an assessment tool.
  • Design effective quiz questions for the appropriate AQF level.
  • Identify suitable online tools and approaches to using these tools within teams for the design and delivery of online quizzes.
  • View all upcoming Designing for Learning with Technology sessions here.
