Design and AI in Built Environment Graduate Research

Design and AI in Built Environment Graduate Research

Overview

How is AI impacting design research? And how can we be more intentional about its applications in design faculties?

In design based faculties, PhD research often incorporates design on some scale or form, from small to large. As part of the Matter of Methods | Methods of Matter Exhibition, this Graduate Researcher focused forum reflects on Design in PhD research, including the use of AI in design and its boundaries and ethics. We are joined by a panel of experienced ABP academics with experience and practice in design and AI: Dr David Mah, Dr Leire Asensio Villoria and Associate Professor Dominic Holzer.

Speakers:

Dr David Mah: Senior Lecturer in Urban Design and Architecture, Melbourne School of Design

Dr Leire Asensio Villoria: Senior Lecturer in Architecture and Urban Design, Melbourne School of Design

Associate Professor Dominic Holzer: Associate Professor in Digital Architecture, Melbourne School of Design

Chair

A/Prof Anna Hurlimann: Acting Assistant Dean of Graduate Research in the Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning
