The Honourable Jarrod Bleijie MP

Deputy Premier

Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning

Minister for Industrial Relations

Jarrod Bleijie grew up on the Sunshine Coast and was elected to Parliament in 2009 at age 27. He serves as Deputy Premier of Queensland, Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning, and Minister for Industrial Relations.

A former commercial lawyer, Jarrod has previously held senior Cabinet roles including Attorney-General and Minister for Justice. He helped deliver the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and led major reforms to the justice system.

He chairs the Cabinet Housing Taskforce and leads delivery of Queensland’s $2 billion Residential Activation Fund to unlock more housing supply, planning reforms in partnership with communities and councils, industrial relations productivity reforms to deliver Queensland’s largest infrastructure pipeline, including the generational infrastructure for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and beyond. His approach is grounded in partnerships, respect for taxpayers and getting things done.

Jarrod is closely involved with Sunshine Coast community organisations including surf lifesaving clubs, school P&Cs, and local sporting groups. Put simply, Jarrod wants people to be able to live, learn and earn in this great state.
