A fun day at Adelaide Zoo celebrating military families with shows, face painting, BBQ and more. Honour, explore, connect, enjoy!

A fun-filled day for families to explore and learn about the world of defense and security in a kid-friendly environment!

Welcome to Defence Kidz Families Day!

Come join us at Adelaide Zoo for a fun-filled day celebrating our incredible military children and families.

Check in from 9.45am- 10:15am, then meet us at the Rotunda by 10:20am sharp to kick off the day with a warm welcome at 10:30am.

Afterwards, enjoy a free BBQ sausage sizzle and ice creams for the kids - followed by the amazing Bird Flight Show at 11:30am on the Green Lawn.

Bring along a picnic rug to sit and enjoy the show — it’s the perfect spot to relax and take in the excitement! For those unable to sit on the grass, there will be a limited seating area available nearby.

There’ll also be a face painter on hand to keep the little ones smiling and colourful.

This special day is all about recognising how amazing our military children are — and is open to

• veteran families,
• reservist families, and
• current serving families.

Once our activities wrap up, feel free to stay and explore the zoo for the rest of the day — it’s your time to connect, celebrate, and make memories together.
