Lowie Live presents a very special evening of acoustic guitar mastery on an international scale Friday March 13th with an exclusive performance by formidable British slide guitarist Dave Kelly joined by Melbourne’s own Geoff Achison.

Dave Kelly is a British blues singer, guitarist and composer, who has been active on the British blues music scene since the 1960s. He has played and recorded with American blues artists such as Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Howlin’ Wolf, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells and also performed with leading bands including the John Dummer Blues Band, Tramp, The Blues Band (with Paul Jones of Manfred Mann) 30-Odd Foot of Grunts and his own Dave Kelly Band.

Dave was voted British Blues Connection acoustic artist of the year for five consecutive years, and received a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ from the UK Blues Federation Awards committee in 2025.

Geoff Achison

Geoff Achison is a world-renowned guitarist, singer, and songwriter known for his soulful voice and dynamic live performances, blending blues, funk, folk, and roots-rock. Starting as lead guitarist for the great Dutch Tilders, Geoff won the Albert King Award at the Memphis Blues Challenge and launched his own career showcasing his fiery musicianship, heartfelt storytelling, and lively onstage humour. He is official Patron of the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society and an inductee of the Blues Music Victoria Hall of Fame. His energetic live sets highlight his soulful vocals on a swag of original tunes, deep blues and blistering renditions of rock classics.
