Date My Mate
Have a friend that’s single and an absolute catch? Time to put them front and centre.
Endless swiping on dating apps ends here at State Library Victoria with Date My Mate.
Hosted by the founder and CEO of HEX, Jeanette Cheah, pitch your friend to a crowd of fellow singles. Make a PowerPoint, gather those green flags and get ready to convince the crowd why your friend deserves to find love in the Library.
How it works:
- This event is for adults aged 24-45 years old.
- Friends will have 5 minutes to pitch their single friend.
- Your host will facilitate a short audience Q&A following the presentation.
- If interested, audience members are encouraged to provide their details to the presenter.
Have a friend you want to pitch?
- Register as a presenter (1-3 people presenting at a time max) to pitch your single friend via this form this form by 28 May. Hurry! There are only 10 spots available.
- We will let you know if your pitch is successful upon submission.
- If your pitch is successful, you will receive a pack from the pitching professionals at StartSpace, including top tips to nail your presentation.
- You will have 5 minutes to pitch your single friend to a crowd of potential suitors, highlighting why they are the ultimate catch. Remember, this isn’t a roast, it’s a strong endorsement.
For audience members:
- Grab a ticket and watch the pitches and ask questions.
- Throughout the night, audiences will vote on the funniest presentation, most creative presentation, most datable and best pitch, with the winner receiving a prize...and hopefully a date.
Doors open from 6.15pm, where you will have the opportunity to grab a drink from the bar. The bar will remain open throughout the evening.
