Data Fluency for research launches their first workshop on introduction to Python developed by <A HREF="http://platforms.monash.edu/bioinformatics/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Monash Bioinformatics Platform</A>
The workshop will be taught in a similar style to Software Carpentry workshops. <A HREF="http://software-carpentry.org/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Software Carpentry</A>'s mission is to help scientists and engineers get more research done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic lab skills for scientific computing.
This beginner-level hands-on workshop is designed to introduce the basics of the Python programming language. Participants will learn about Python fundamentals including data types, conditionals, looping and functions. The latter half will focus on applying the concept for real-world data analysis and a brief introduction to plotting (data visualisation). This session is recommended to participants with little or no knowledge of Python. This workshop will be a building block to prepare you to carry out your own reproducible analysis and increase your productivity.
