Make your very own sampler, featuring an arrangement of shapes, to create flowers and leaves. Work through different techniques and materials to apply a motif to a background fabric.
In this workshop you will learn to use both machine and hand stitching to apply motifs.
About Barbara
Barbara is a Textile artist and Quilter living in Darwin.
Her passion is working with textiles and fibres to create practical and decorative works. Numerous years of working with textiles and fibres has resulted in the development of a diverse range of techniques and skills from free machining 3D work, thread painting, fabric manipulation, dyeing, painting, dress making to patchwork and art quilts.
Barbara enjoys being involved in the development of projects, working with other artists and community members, collaborating, designing, researching, constructing, liaising, and mentoring. She loves to share her skills and knowledge with anyone who wishes to be creative. In 2020 Barbara officially became an Artist-in-the-Park at the Territory Wildlife Park being involved in a number of award-winning conservation art projects.
She is passionate about nature and being able to express fauna and flora in many textile forms.

● Biro, pencil
● Sewing kit – Small sharp scissors, pins, needles for both hand sewing and sewing machine
● A small range of cotton threads in any colours
