To kick off 2026 we are inviting Martin Soley and David Alzamendi to come and present their topics on data managment.

Martin will present From Data Governance to Executive Confidence: Demonstrating Value Early. The session will explore how organisations can deliver visible value early, build trust in critical data, and create governance signals that leaders intuitively rely on.

From Data Governance to Executive Confidence: Demonstrating Value Early.

Data Governance is widely recognised as essential, yet many organisations struggle to demonstrate its value to executive teams, particularly in the early stages of a governance program. Too often, governance is perceived as slow, compliance-driven, or disconnected from business decision-making, despite the significant effort invested by data teams.

This presentation reframes data governance through an executive lens. Rather than focusing on frameworks, policies, or maturity models alone, it explores how governance creates value when it builds confidence. Confidence in the data that informs critical decisions, confidence in accountability and confidence in risk management.

Drawing on real-world experience from Experian, the session will show how early value can be delivered by focusing governance efforts on high-impact decisions, critical data assets and visible “governance signals” that intuitively understand. It will demonstrate how data governance can move from being something that must be explained to something that is simply relied upon.

I thought data engineers, analysts, and architects still had years before their day-to-day work would be fundamentally different.
