VENUE: Dogwood Crossing, Miles
TIME: 10:30am to 1:30pm

Join local Scenic Rim artist and Queensland College of Art graduate in Contemporary Australian Indigenous Arts, Sarah Zalewski for a hands-on weaving workshop that celebrates connection to culture and place. A descendant of the Migunberri people of Mount Barney, Sarah uses her creative practice to connect with her family and ancestors. In this relaxed and inclusive session, participants will use pre-fired ceramic discs (prepared by curator and artist Larissa Warren) and learn traditional weaving techniques. Sarah will guide the group in preparing and weaving local natural grasses with raffia into the ceramic forms to create personal and culturally rich artworks.

Tea, coffee and sandwiches will be provided.  Please notify staff of any dietary requirement or allergies when booking in.
