Women in Cyber Security and Australia’s Future

Diversity and inclusion are vital for cyber security. Increasing the participation of women is particularly important, not only for addressing the critical skills shortage in this field, but also for advancing the state of the art. In this public keynote speech for the Cyber 9/12 Student Challenge, Ms Sandra Ragg will help explain how the strength of our future cyber security workforce rests on our ability to harness the full potential of Australia’s diverse talent pool.



About the Speaker


Assistant Secretary for Cyber Policy (PM&C), Sandra Ragg leads on cyber security policy and strategy in her role as Assistant Secretary, Cyber Policy in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

As a key architect of Australia's Cyber Security Strategy, her focus is now on delivery of the initiatives to strengthen Australia's cyber security capabilities, taking advantage of the opportunities of a secure digital economy.

Building partnerships between government and the private sector is a core element of Sandra's work. She is also a passionate advocate for increasing the participation of women in cyber security. Throughout her career Sandra has also worked in a range of intelligence and security operational, analytical and leadership roles in the Department of Defence.
