State Library and Archives of Tasmania Zine Fair
An indie publishing showcase celebrating storytellers, illustrators, and makers for Tasmania Reads. Apply now for your stall.
Ahoy zinesters!
The State Library and Archives of Tasmania is holding a Zine Fair as part of Tasmania Reads. The fair will celebrate the creativity, history, and community of zine-making in Tasmania and beyond.
Zines are a democratic and inclusive, radical form of grassroots publishing.
Zines are self-published, often handmade magazine or pamphlets, and they collapse traditional hierarchies in art and publishing. Anyone can make one.
The State Library and Archives of Tasmania holds an important collection documenting this history.
As part of the Zine Fair, selected items from the Library’s zine collection will be showcased, connecting past and present zine-making.
Are you a zine creator? Apply now for a free stall by emailing rachel.edwards@libraries.tas.gov.au with your name, phone and a description of your zines. Please attach a sample.
If you attend this Libraries Tasmania event, you must agree to follow our policies.
