Cultural Encounters – Harmony Week Special | City of Ryde
Experience music, dance, poetry & performance celebrating Ryde’s cultural diversity as part of Harmony Week 2026.
Cultural Encounters is a new quarterly City of Ryde initiative designed to bring the arts, creativity, and cultural expression of our diverse community to light.
Through live performances and artistic expression, Cultural Encounters creates opportunities for residents to experience, appreciate, and connect with cultures represented across Ryde—using the arts as a shared language of understanding, respect, and belonging.
This Harmony Week event marks the first Cultural Encounters evening, launching the series in 2026. It will feature a curated program of artists and community groups from diverse cultural backgrounds.
To support family participation, the event will also include a children’s arts and crafts area delivered by Messy Makers, providing creative, hands-on activities for young people. This addition helps make the evening family-friendly and welcoming for all ages.
Designed to be welcoming, engaging, and accessible, the evening invites community members to encounter cultures beyond their own while celebrating the values at the heart of the initaitve.
