About this event

Women experiencing family violence often have multiple pressing matters that must be dealt with in different courts, in different jurisdictions and under different legislation. You will often be the first point of contact for women experiencing family violence. Being able to identify her legal issues and provide legal information, will support her to better navigate the legal system.

2 consecutive half-days 9.30am - 1.30pm.

What will you learn?

- How to identify critical and urgent legal issues and how to ask the right questions at the right time

- Legal essentials in family violence, family law and child protection law, including Covid-19 issues

- How to provide appropriate legal information to clients

- How the legal referral process works, working with lawyers and supporting your client through the legal system

What will you receive?

You will receive a digital copy of WLSV’s Critical Legal Issues Map - a family violence legal triage practice manual designed specifically to assist practitioners to guide and support clients through the legal system.
