Creating Bees, Bugs and Butterflies: Homeschool Craft Program
A calm, creative homeschool craft class where kids aged 7+ will make a bug of their choice and share nature-inspired stories.
Join local fibre artist Cristina from Solstice Fibre and step into the crafting garden! Children aged 7 and above are invited to create their own bug or insect. Using sheep’s wool roving, children will be guided in sculpting and decorating their own tiny woolly pollinator.
In this class, children will:
✨Explore wool felt, an ancient and versatile fibre! Learn the art of needle felting, from basic techniques to shaping and adding detail to creations using a barbed needle.
🦋Create in a calm, mindful environment with freedom to create and design their own unique insect.
🐞Share and listen to stories about our natural world, fostering connection and care for the environment and fragile ecosystems.
🎨 Develop creativity and artistic confidence through hands-on making, bringing their tiny garden friends to life.
All materials will be provided, and no prior experience is needed! Guidance will be adapted for all skill levels and abilities.
Families are welcome, with an understanding of little siblings coming along. Please note that this class will be catered to ages 7 and above, with guardians being present.
