Create a Bug with Junk workshop

Create a Bug with Junk workshop

Overview

Make a Junk Bug from recycled materials in this fun, hands-on kids workshop Peg—explore creativity while learning about reuse!

In support of Plastic Free July, join us for a fun, hands-on workshop designed to inspire kids to learn about waste reduction and sustainability!

Led by Lessen with Peg, this interactive session invites children to design and build their very own “Junk Bug” using a range of interesting materials that would otherwise have been thrown away.

Participants will explore waste items sourced from local creative reuse business ReMida, and discover how they can be cleverly transformed. Children will investigate different material properties and learn how pieces can be joined together without glue or sticky tape.

What to Expect:

  • Learn & Discover: Understand what single-use items are and how we can reduce them in our daily lives
  • Crafting Fun: Hands-on exploration of recycled and repurposed materials
  • Interactive Learning: A fun, sustainable activity encouraging imagination and problem-solving

👧🧒 Who Can Join:

Kids of all ages are welcome (parental supervision required)

🌟 Why Attend:

This workshop is a fantastic opportunity for kids to learn about sustainability, creativity, and practical ways to reduce waste — all while having fun and taking home their own handmade junk bug.
