Founded in 1991 ArchiTeam Cooperative is a membership association for Australian architects working in small, medium and emerging practices.We’ve been around for over 28 years but we’re undergoing a growth spurt as the unique role and importance of small practice is recognised in the design industry. In this CPD we will be discussing the HOW,  WHY and WHAT of architectural documentation. What are the expectations?

<h1>Small practice documentation and efficiency</h1>What are the expectations for architecture documentation?How and Why do we document architecture? And does the process change, depending on audience?Drawings, specifications, and schedules are used for calling tenders, negotiating prices with builders, obtaining permits, and throughout the construction process. If documentation is used for different purposes and by different stakeholders, how can we ensure we are effectively communicating the design requirements and the expected outcome to these various audiences?As architects, we are always striving to balance accuracy and compliance with efficiency. But can we recognise and not step over the line of over-documenting? At the same time how do we achieve the completeness required to translate our vision into a package that is useful to builders?In this CPD we will be discussing these matters with both architects and builders. We will hear what builders are looking for in a successful documentation package, along with tips for preparing documentation that can be easily read and understood, is comprehensive yet relevant and what aids (and possibly what hinders) achieving the desired built outcome.Architects will discuss how they have adjusted their approach to documentation to suit various design and delivery modes. The final design proposal is cohesive, fully described and resolved to achieve value and cost objectives, and compliance with planning controls and construction codes.<h2>FAQ</h2>I won&#x27;t be able to make it to the session, or might miss part of it, will there be a recording that I can catch up on?Yes, there will be a recording. All registered attendees will receive a link to view it the following week alongside their CPD quiz to receive points. For anyone who isn&#x27;t registered, it will be made available on CPD Online in a month&#x27;s time.How do I get my CPD points?A CPD quiz will be sent alongside the session recording which you can complete. The quiz will be open for 2 weeks. Certificates will be sent out to those who have completed the quiz after it is closed. I have a specific question for the speaker / panel. How do I ask it prior to the event?You can send it to admin@architeam.net.au and Ophelia will pass it on for you.

TERMS &amp; CONDITIONS
Formal CPD points will only be issued on completion of any written requirements. Attending the session alone will not earn you formal CPD points. ArchiTeam reserves the right to alter the dates, speakers or venue of an event. Cancellations or refunds must be requested 48 hours prior to the event, no refunds will be given after this time. People attending in replace of a member must pay the difference for non member pricing. Start and end times are an estimation.
