79 years since the Battle of Crete. A service at the National War Memorial followed by dance, music, food and history at nearby Anzac House.

About this Event

This special community event will commemorate the 79th anniversary of the Battle of Crete and celebrate the relationship forged between Australia and Greece during World War II. After a commemorative wreath-laying service at the National War Memorial (corner Kintore Ave & North Terrace), walk in procession down the hill to the historic Drill Hall (on Torrens Parade Ground). There, an afternoon of spectacular Cretan music, dance, food - and captivating history talks - will follow. Discover the rich history of the Anzacs in Greece and Crete, and listen to incredible stories of resilience, courage, and endurance during wartime.
