About this Event

Age Friendly Cities
Did you know City of Salisbury is a World Health Organisation ‘Age Friendly City’?
Guest speaker Kathy Williams, Manager of Ageing Policies and Projects, Office for Ageing Well, will discuss Age Friendly Cities and introduce South Australia’s Plan for Ageing Well 2020-2025, which was released on 1 July 2020. You will then have the opportunity to have your say on developing the City of Salisbury’s updated Age Friendly Strategic Plan 2021-2025.
The current plan is available online here: www.salisbury.sa.gov.au/agefriendlystrategy
Have your say about how to make ‘your local city’ friendly for all ages.

About COTA SA Conversations with Salisbury Seniors
These popular and engaging Conversations commenced in October 2015 under the banner of COTA SA Conversations with Northern Seniors. This initiative began with a collaboration between the City of Salisbury, Northern Collaborative Project (NCP) and COTA SA with an aim to deliver regular ‘conversations’ with seniors that would:
  • Provide specialist information on a range of topics that directly impacted on the lives of older people living in the northern region.
  • Engage and build the knowledge of a broader group of community members, enhancing participation in their local community.
  • Provide a forum for COTA SA and the City of Salisbury to hear directly from older people on the issues raised to enable COTA SA and City of Salisbury to utilise these views to inform policy.

The NCP Community Ambassadors were pivotal initially in supporting older people to engage and speak out, supporting them to have a voice around issues that were important in their lives.
