The ANU Researcher Development team run university-wide programs for all HDR candidates, supervisors and early career researchers. Our workshops are designed to support researchers in their work, drawing on expertise from the broader ANU research community. Copywrite: No it’s not a spelling mistake.  It’s vital that you know about protecting your copyright and not signing it away unnecessarily. Did you know that Creative Commons licences protects your rights too? This session will focus on how you can best protect your rights as an author/creator and how  you can get permission to use the works of others (such as maps, tables, graphs, quotes) to use in your publications or thesis.
 
After this session you will:
§  Understand the basics of how you have copyright in your works §  Develop a range of strategies to deal with licenses you may be asked to sign §  Understand how to get permission to use the works of others 
This session is presented by Roxanne Missingham our beloved ANU University Librarian (Chief Scholarly Information Services). Don't miss out - she is a whizz at this.
 
By registering for this event you are committing to attendance, there is a $50.00 penalty payment for non-attendance.  Our events are very popular and places are limited, we impose this $50 penalty to encourage you to communicate with us. If we do not get advance notice of non-attendance, it disadvantages your colleagues. If after booking you are unable to attend this event, please self-cancel your reservation on Eventbrite 48 hours prior to the event so we can release your spot to someone on the waiting list.
