About this event

Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), in partnership with Mackay Tourism, is pleased to announce we will host the 2021 Conversations with Industry, on Wednesday, 19 May at Harrup Park .

We invite tourism and events businesses to join us to connect with the latest insights, TEQ’s marketing and event activities and opportunities to get involved. There will also be an opportunity to connect with TEQ specialists during breakout sessions to provide feedback and ask questions.

TEQ’s Conversations with Industry event is an important chance for operators to connect with the State Tourism Organisation’s strategies and marketing approach. We look forward to seeing you there – be sure to register quickly as we expect spots to fill up.

Time: 10:30am - 2:30pm

Program Overview:

  • 10:30am: Registration Opens
  • 11:00am - 12:00pm: Presentations with Q&A opportunities
  • 12:00pm - 12:30pm: Light Networking Lunch
  • 12:30pm - 2:30pm: Breakout Sessions (There are 4 breakout sessions in total with 4 topics to choose. Each session will run for 25 minutes followed by 5 minutes to move to the next session)
  • 2:30pm - 4:00pm: Networking hosted by Mackay Tourism

As part of your registration we invite you to pre-book any breakout sessions that interest you. There are 4 breakout sessions in total with 4 topics to choose from. These sessions are an opportunity to have a conversation with TEQ specialists on key topics:

  • Marketing activities and opportunities, content, PR, social and digital opportunities, working with domestic distribution partners and IMATE (TEQ’s Industry and Media Agency for Tourism and Events)
  • TEQ Events Strategy, how to leverage events and deliver COVID Safe Events
  • What Queensland’s new brand means in practice, and how to use the ‘Ultimate Transformational Experience Guide and seven steps to creating better value for your guests and business’. The Best of Queensland Experience Program, how the program works, how to understand the BOQ Operator Report and tips on how businesses can maximise resources available
  • The Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport (DTIS) and the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) will be sharing overview of support programs available for tourism and events businesses.

Please select only one topic per session (i.e. Session1: Events, Session 2: Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport, Session 3: Experience Design etc.).

To help streamline our presentations and maximise question time, we ask that you submit questions on registration if you have something you’d like specifically covered.
