About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Join us at The Women's Table for an in-person event where we delve into what it's like to be a international development consultant in Cambodia and beyond. Lawyer and consultant Dr Sally Low was particularly struck by the continuing French legacy while living and working on development projects in the land of Angkor Wat as well as more widely in South East Asia.

Sally's experiences lead her to write a book about what she observed. Her new book Colonial law making -Cambodia under the French, is a fascinating study of social change and resistance to colonial attempts to 'civilise'. Her experiences also motivated her to join the global board of governance of a Cambodian women's organisation.

Be quick -seats at The Women's Table with Sally are limited. Reserve yours now!

How do I become a TWT subscriber?

Subscribing to TWT is the cheapest way of attending our events and becoming a member of the Women’s Table community. So let's make a time to discuss! Message Meredith on 0400 511753 or email us at twtmelbourne@gmail.com.au.

Organised by

Women in business for themselves only have so much time for coffee one-to-one. Deciding to expand our coffee networks into a community was a no brainer so Meredith Carter and friends established The Women's Table. Add our lunches to your diary - second Wednesday every month - for fabulous speakers and events and a great buzz as we exchange tips for running our own businesses and generally talk the leg off an iron pot. More information? Visit http://thewomenstable.mystrikingly.com/  Or just come along, see what all the laughter is about and expand your own business networks and  expertise at the same time.
