About this event

Free places in a course focusing on the links between physical & mental health

MHCC is excited to offer fully funded places in our Connecting Physical & Mental Health course.

Life expectancy for people experiencing persistent mental health conditions is reduced by 15 to 20 years, largely due to cardiovascular disease and metabolic factors. This exciting new course will equip mental health workers with vital strategies to improve the physical health of the people they work with.

A survey by the Australian Preventative Partnership Centre found half of community mental health organisations have a policy to address chronic disease risks. Around 70 percent of community mental health organisations assist their staff, via training and resources, to help clients modify risks.

This course explores key modifiable risks to health and introduces effective ways to share this information with the people you support.

This training is funded by NSW Health.
