Linear perspective is a type of commonly used 2D graphical representation of 3D scenes in landscape painting or photography. One of the features of linear perspective is that parallel lines converge to varnishing points.
This painting workshop will focus on introducing the concept of linear perspective in assisting landscape, particularly urban landscape image composition.
Florence Wang's Let the Night Fall on display at Fitzroy Library from Thursday 30 April to Sunday 26 July 2026.
This series of paintings (oil on copper plates) by artist Florence Wang capture urban night scenes in areas surrounding Brunswick and Fitzroy. The works invite viewers to contemplate how urban landscapes—often perceived as passive backdrops—actively shape emotional experiences. These environments bind individuals to place, subtly influencing thoughts, feelings, and the rhythms of daily life.
